Reishi Ganoderma sichuanense

Ganoderma sichuanense, traditionally referred to as Ganderma lucidum

NEW & IMPROVED FORMULATION

Reishi has been valued in Traditional Chinese Medicine for thousands of years as a “superior herb”. Also known in China as Lingzhi and traditionally celebrated as the “Mushroom of Immortality,” it is one of the most revered mushrooms in the world. Its history stretches back thousands of years, with the first written record appearing in the Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing (Divine Farmer’s Materia Medica), one of the earliest Chinese pharmacopeias. Once rare and reserved for emperors and scholars, Reishi is now carefully cultivated and full-spectrum extracted to provide a broad range of naturally occurring compounds.

MycoNutri™ Reishi is a dual-extract product, carefully produced to preserve both water-soluble polysaccharides (beta-glucans) and alcohol-soluble triterpenes, including ganoderic acids, the characteristic triterpenes unique to reishi, maintaining the mushroom’s natural spectrum of active compounds.

To ensure effective levels of both polysaccharides and triterpenes, MycoNutri™ Reishi is produced from organically cultivated fruiting bodies grown on hardwood logs in LongQuan, Zhejiang, China, under pesticide-free conditions, ensuring high quality and traceability. Using dual hot-water / alcohol extraction followed by vacuum concentration and spray-drying.

The resulting extract contains more than 30% total beta-glucans (all of which are soluble) and over 4% total triterpenes.

Growing Seasons & Information

In China, Reishi is cultivated using two main methods: sawdust bag cultivation and log cultivation.
Reishi grown on sawdust and wheat bran substrates can produce two to three harvests per year, but the fruiting bodies are typically thinner and smaller.
By contrast, log-grown Reishi follows a long, single annual cycle, taking almost the entire year to mature.

Cultivation begins around February, when freshly cut linden logs (Tilia spp.) are prepared, sterilised, cooled, and inoculated with Reishi spawn. The inoculated logs are then incubated until the mycelium fully colonises the wood, after which they are partially buried in soil to initiate fruitingbody.
Fruitingbody and spore release occur naturally between early summer and mid-autumn (approximately May to October). Once the mushrooms have fully matured and released their spores, they are harvested—marking the completion of a cycle that can span eight to nine months.

MycoNutri™ sources its Reishi from Longquan, Zhejiang Province, part of the Wuyi mountain range, an area long recognised for its pristine environment, pure water and rich tradition of medicinal mushroom cultivation.
Our cultivation partners use natural linden logs, cultivated without pesticides or chemical fertilisers, and manage each stage of the process—from inoculation to harvest—under controlled natural conditions.
The focus is on maturity and secondary metabolite development rather than cosmetic uniformity. Because triterpenes (ganoderic acids) are secondary metabolites that accumulate during the final stages of growth, MycoNutri™ harvests only after spore release, ensuring a fully developed and potent fruiting body.

Raw Material manufacturing process

MycoNutri™ Reishi extract is produced using a dual-extraction process designed to reflect the principles of traditional herbal preparation while meeting modern quality standards.

Two alcohol extractions are performed first, to obtain triterpenes (ganoderic acids), sterols and other alcohol-soluble compounds.
This is followed by two hot-water extractions, drawing out beta-glucans and polysaccharides as well as other water-soluble fractions.

All extract fractions are then combined in their entirety, ensuring that no naturally occurring compounds are selectively removed or over-purified. Rather than artificially emphasising the content of any single constituent, MycoNutri™ aims to preserve the natural balance and synergy found in traditional decoction methods.
The combined extract is subsequently vacuum-concentrated and subjected to staged low-temperature drying, producing a stable, full-spectrum Reishi extract that retains the mushroom’s complete range of active components.
